Boswellia serrata Gum Extract in OsteoHA®
Boswellia is an Ayurvedic herb that supports joint flexibility and comfort by modulating specific proteins and enzymes. The extract is derived from the gum resin of the Boswellia serrata plant, commonly known as Frankincense. It has shown to reduce inflammation, protect collagen, and promote joint mobility.
Ginger Root Powder in OsteoHA®

Hyaluronic Acid in OsteoHA®

The Clinical Studies for Joint Health
A study published in 2011 evaluated the use of Boswellia in 56 patients with osteoarthritis. Patients were given 500 mg per day of Boswellia or a Boswellia ointment to be applied to the joints. After two months, both groups showed symptomatic improvement of joint pain.
Another study published in 2011 evaluated the effectiveness of Boswellia on the symptoms of knee osteoarthritis. Subjects were given 100 mg of Boswellia or a placebo for 30 days. Each subject was evaluated for pain and physical function at baseline, and at days 5, 15, and 30. Those who received the Boswellia had significantly lower pain scores and functional ability within five days of treatment when compared to the placebo.
Additionally, a study that took place in 2001 evaluated the impact of ginger on joint pain caused by osteoarthritis of the knee. Two hundred sixty-one patients received ginger or a placebo for six weeks. Pain scores were evaluated before and after the study period. Those who received the ginger reported significantly less knee pain with standing and walking. Those who received the ginger were also able to take less pain medication.
Lastly, a study conducted in 2012 evaluated the efficacy of hyaluronic acid (HA) and osteoarthritis. Sixty subjects were given either 200 mg HA or a placebo for 12 months. Symptoms improved significantly in the HA group, particularly in the younger subset of subjects.
